Park Beautification- Anne Springs Close Greenway Trail and Park Beautification: Volunteered 8 hours with 25 scouts to enhance park facilities and environment. | 2021
I volunteered with my scout troop for a park cleanup project, and it was such a blast! We met super early (who knew I could wake up before noon on a Saturday?) and brought gloves, trash bags, and our best vibes. We spent the day picking up litter along the trails and tackling those annoying invasive plants.
Plus, we planted a bunch of cute flowers to make the picnic areas look way prettier! It felt so good to see how much we changed the place in just a few hours! Not only did we have fun working together, but it made me appreciate nature so much more. I love knowing we’re helping keep the park nice for families to enjoy in the future. It was just one of those feel-good days.
Women’s Care Kits- Women Care Kits: Contributed to assembling 1500 care kits for women in need through Elevation Church. | 2023
Packing women’s care kits was such an eye-opening experience! When I first got there, I didn’t realize how much impact these kits would have on local women in need. We sorted through donations—everything from hygiene products to cozy socks—and it felt amazing to know we were making a difference.
It was fun working with other teens, sharing stories and laughter while we packed each kit with care. By the end of the day, I felt this incredible sense of fulfillment. It’s super important to support each other, and I’m really grateful to have been a part of something that empowers women in our community. Can’t wait to volunteer again!
Food Boxes- Food Boxes for Families – Second Harvest Food Bank: Assisted in distributing over 300 food boxes to families in need, impacting local communities. | 2023
Today was a true blessing. I helped distribute over 300 food boxes for families in need with Second Harvest Food Bank, and it honestly made me feel so good inside. Seeing the smiles on the kids’ faces when they got their boxes was priceless. I never realized how much these food boxes mean to people in our community.
It’s so easy to take food for granted, but witnessing how grateful everyone was really hit home. I felt like I was making a real difference, even if it was just a small part of something bigger. It reminded me how important it is to help each other out, especially in tough times.
Backpacks- Children’s Backpack School Supplies: Organized & distributed 1100 backpacks with school supplies for children through Elevation Church. | 2023
God is good, this past weekend, I helped with an awesome event at Elevation Church where we organized and distributed 1,100 backpacks filled with school supplies for kids in need. It was great to see so many families come together, and we all worked as a team to make sure everything was packed and ready to go.
I loved seeing the kids’ faces light up when they got their backpacks—it made all the hard work totally worth it! It was a great way to give back to the community and make sure everyone has what they need for a successful school year.
Warm Kits- Warm Kits for Families in Need: Participated in creating and distributing 530 warm kits in collaboration with BSA Troop 250 & 167G. | 2023
This year, I had the awesome opportunity to help create and distribute 530 warm kits for families in need with BSA Troop 250 and 167G. It was really eye-opening to see how something as simple as a warm hat or a pair of socks can make such a big difference during the colder months. We all pitched in to pack the kits, and it felt great knowing we were giving back to our community.
Delivering them was the best part—I could see the smiles on the families’ faces, and the best experience I had was receiving hugs from two young children, that is gratitude. I learned a lot about teamwork and the importance of helping others, and I can’t wait to get involved in more projects like this!
Food Drive- 167G Food Drive: Led a drive that collected and donated 33,000 pounds of food to Fishes and Loaves. | 2021 – 2022
For my 167G project, I organized a food drive that turned out to be way more impactful than I ever expected! We collected and donated a whopping 33,000 pounds of food to Fishes and Loaves. It felt amazing to see my classmates and the community come together, all pitching in to help those in need.
I reached out to local businesses, set up donation bins, and even made flyers to spread the word. It was such a rewarding experience to know that our efforts could make a real difference in people’s lives. Can’t wait to do it again next year!
Tutoring- Tutor, English (Middle School Students): Tutored over 45 middle school students in English during 10th grade, improving their academic performance.
Babysitter: Cared for four boys aged 4, 6, 8, and 11 during evenings and overnight; assisted with homework and activities. | 2020 – 2024
During 10th grade, I started tutoring middle school students in English, and it was honestly one of the most rewarding experiences ever! I helped over 45 students improve their grades, which felt amazing to see. Watching them go from struggling with assignments to actually enjoying reading and writing was super fulfilling.
Plus, I also babysat four energetic boys, ages 4 to 11, during evenings and overnight. It was a bit chaotic but so much fun! I helped them with their homework and planned activities to keep them entertained. Balancing tutoring and babysitting taught me a lot about responsibility and patience, and I loved being able to make a difference in their lives.
